Cause Analysis and Solution of Water Leakage in Steel Structure Warehouse
Causes of roof leaks
- The peaks at the ridge of the metal panel warehouse building are too high, and the ridge cover cannot guarantee waterproofing.
- The longitudinal overlap of the steel structure warehouse does not put cement or silica gel, forming gaps and leaking.
- The longitudinal overlap of the ridge cover plate is connected by rivets, and the strength of thermal expansion and contraction is not enough and the rivets are broken, resulting in water leakage.
- No plug is laid between the roof ridge cover plate and the roof panel, or the plug is placed irregularly and falls off to cause water leakage.
Solution
- The ridge cover of the metal warehouse should be wider, and the slope should be larger.
- Put glue or silica gel on the overlapping joints, and replace the staples.
- The plug should match the plate type, and the glue or silica gel should be placed up and down when the plug is laid.
Causes of water leakage in roof air building
- The joint between the air tower and the roof is not tightly connected under the edge, and the longitudinal overlap of the edge is not laid with cement or silica gel.
- The outer panel of the steel structure warehouse roof is not installed at the junction of the gas building.
- The openings of the structural pillars of the gas tower are not waterproofed.
- There are hidden dangers of water leakage in the manufacture and installation of the gas building itself.
Solution
- Metal panel warehouse building closing edges should be tightly connected during installation, and the longitudinal lap joints must be provided with cement or plugs and fixed with staples.
- The roof panel must be pulled up before the installation of the gas tower of the steel structure warehouse.
- It is required that the construction party of the gas building must carry out waterproof treatment on the opening part after the structure of the gas building is completed.
- Check the installation quality and water resistance of the gas building.
Causes of water leakage at the lighting panel
- The shape of the daylighting panel of the steel structure warehouse does not match the shape of the roof panel, and the peaks on both sides of the daylighting panel are higher than the roof panel.
- After installation, the seal is too tight, resulting in a difference in air pressure inside and outside the daylighting panel, and capillary water enters the roof from the gaps on both sides of the daylighting panel and leaks.
- The longitudinal overlapping length of the lighting board is not enough, and the glue loses its viscosity due to aging, and the longitudinal glue falls off.
- The daylighting panel and the color steel plate of the warehouse building are rigidly lapped, and the gap in the middle is not sealed.
Solution
- The waterproof screw is applied on the upper part of the wave crest.
- The edge board at the daylighting board should be tightly sealed with the daylighting board.
- The cement on both sides in the longitudinal direction should be widened, and the upper part of the wave crest should be laid to prevent capillary water from penetrating.
Causes of water leakage from roof openings
- The openings were not waterproofed according to the design nodes, and the steel plugs were not placed with waterproof cement and silica gel.
- The reserved area around the opening is small, the rainwater does not flow smoothly, and it is easy to accumulate water.
- The lap joints around the opening are not waterproofed.
- There are no structural parts around the inside of the opening, forming a low-lying pond.
- There is water blocking phenomenon in waterproof construction, forming stagnant water.
Solution
- Construct according to the design drawings and strictly follow the construction procedures, and lay cement and silica gel.
- The reserved area around the opening must meet the drainage requirements.
- Waterproof treatment must be carried out after the wall and roof are opened.
- Purlins or angle steel structures should be added as far as possible for the openings of the rear enclosure to reduce the deformation of the enclosure.
- The installation of waterproof construction must be tight and smooth so that the water flow is smooth.
